Description
AOD-9604 (Advanced Obesity Drug) is a modified fragment of human growth hormone (hGH), specifically amino acids 176-191, with an additional tyrosine at the N-terminus. Originally developed by Monash University in Australia, AOD-9604 retains the fat-reducing properties of growth hormone without its growth-promoting or diabetogenic effects. It stimulates lipolysis (fat breakdown) and inhibits lipogenesis (fat formation) by mimicking the way natural growth hormone regulates fat metabolism. AOD-9604 has received GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) status from the FDA for use as a food additive.
