Description
Epitalon (also spelled Epithalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) based on the natural epithalamin peptide produced by the pineal gland. Developed by Russian gerontologist Professor Vladimir Khavinson over 35 years of research, Epitalon is the only known compound that directly activates telomerase, the enzyme responsible for maintaining telomere length. Telomeres are the protective caps on chromosomes that shorten with each cell division, and their length is considered one of the most reliable biomarkers of biological aging. By reactivating telomerase in somatic cells, Epitalon may help counteract one of the fundamental mechanisms of cellular aging.

Research published in the Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine and Biogerontology by Prof. Khavinson's team demonstrates Epitalon's ability to reactivate telomerase in human somatic cells, extend telomere length, and increase the Hayflick limit (maximum number of cell divisions) by 33%. Longitudinal studies spanning 15+ years showed significant improvements in biomarkers of aging and lifespan extension in research models. Epitalon also restores melatonin production in aged pineal glands.
